This past week, I had surgery to remove a cancerous spot from my neck.
It’s not my first experience with this. Back in 2003, I had three surgeries and reconstruction for a malignant melanoma on my right ear. (Fun fact: I have a prosthetic ear cartilage from that experience.)
Growing up in South Florida in the ’80s and ’90s, sunscreen just wasn’t something we paid attention to. We heard the advice, but we rarely used it.
Fast forward to now and the message is everywhere:
➡️ Wear sunscreen.
It’s simple. It works. But most people still skip it.
And You Know What? Business Is the Same Way.
We hear the advice all the time:
- Set up systems.
- Follow up with leads.
- Collect contact info from potential leads.
But just like sunscreen, a lot of folks don’t act on it.
Last week, a few of our clients ran a limited-time product launch. Here’s what we did:
✅ Used an interest form to collect leads ahead of time
✅ Scheduled automated emails + texts to go out on launch day
✅ Sat back and watched it work
Result:
📦 Almost 200 orders in 24 hours ➡️ from just 3 clients.
No scrambling. No forgetting. Just systems that worked for them.
If You’ve Been Waiting to Set Up Systems… Consider This Your Sign
Start small:
✔️ Add a lead form
✔️ Write a follow-up message
✔️ Automate your first outreach
You don’t need to change everything overnight.
But you do need to take that first step.
Because whether it’s your skin or your sales…
Prevention works.
