What Happens When You Show Up Scared? (And Why It’s Worth It)

Have you ever walked into a room and immediately wanted to turn around and run?

That was me, last year…

I had just been invited to join a Mastermind group filled with people I’ve admired for years. They were leaders I followed online, looked up to, and quietly learned from. It felt like a huge opportunity… and also a giant anxiety spiral 😅

This first meeting I attended was in person. And as an introvert, I was anxious for days.

My thoughts?
“What if I don’t belong here?”
“What if I say something dumb?”

😬 Turns out, I wasn’t the only one.

Two others joined the group the same day. Later, we all admitted how nervous we were, and one of them even puked on the way in. (Yes, really.)

But that shared discomfort? It built connection fast.

We stuck together. Laughed at ourselves. Took the edge off. And what started as anxiety turned into real friendship and support.

💡 I’ve learned more from the guys in that Mastermind group than I can explain.

And honestly? I can’t imagine where our business would be today if I had let fear talk me out of going.

✨ Here’s the takeaway:

People don’t bond over perfection. They bond over vulnerability.

When you show up with your real, behind-the-scenes self… your fears, your awkwardness, your “what-am-I-doing?” energy… you invite others in.

You remind them that they’re not alone.

And that is what builds community and trust.

So this week…
